You can become infected with chlamydia by having vaginal, anal or oral sex with someone who already has chlamydia3.
Who gets the infection?
Anyone sexually active can get the infection but there are some factors that will increase your risk. These are:
Having vaginal, anal or oral sex without a condom3
Sexually active young people3
Gay, bisexual and men who have sex with men are at risk3
