Some people take medications on a daily basis to reduce both the number and severity of their migraines.
Am I a candidate for preventative medications?
You could be a candidate if:14
- You experience migraine attacks that impair normal daily activities despite using medications for your migraines
- Your pain relief medication does not work or it is causing serious side effects
- You need to take migraine medications more than 15 days/month or more than 2 to 3 times/week
- You have a migraine attack at least 3 times per month
If you experience any of the above, contact your doctor to see if you are a candidate for medications that may help to prevent migraines.
