Let's Talk About Your Period What Happens During Menopause?
Heartburn Your period doesn’t last forever and ultimately it’ll stop and you will go through something called menopause. When you have not had your period for 12 months, then you are officially in menopause. At around 50 years of age a woman’s ovaries will slow down and eventually stop working. As a result, only small amounts of estrogen are made in the body and this is what causes all the bad symptoms of menopause. Women who are in menopause experience unpleasant symptoms like hot flashes, vaginal dryness and mood changes. They are also at a higher risk for having osteoporosis, which is a condition that makes your bones weak and easier to brake.
