What does a plantar wart look and feel like?1,2
Plantar warts come in different shapes and sizes. A wart can look like a bump with a rough surface, or it may be flat and smooth. They are usually skin-coloured, but can be grey or brown in appearance. Tiny blood vessels, which look like little black dots, grow within the centre of the wart to supply blood to the wart.
Warts are normally painless. They can be painful if there is pressure from standing or walking, but mostly when the wart is pinched from the sides.2
