Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men in Canada, accounting for an estimated 25% of all cancer diagnoses each year.3 This means that about 23,600 new cases of prostate cancer were diagnosed in Canada in 2013.3 Overall, 1 in 8 Canadian men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, and 1 in 28 will die from it.3 The risk of increases as men age, as shown in Figure 1.
