The SCAT2 evaluates an athlete’s concussion and includes the Standardized Assessment of Concussion (SAC) score9,10 and the Maddocks questions11 for assessing concussions. This tool can also be used to mark normal brain function during the preseason.

SCAT2 is available free online for use by medical and health professionals. Many medical professionals, including those that care for National Hockey League (NHL) athletes, use the modified SCAT2 for player assessment. Pocket Scat is an on-field device trainers can use.
